Country of northern Europe, Denmark presents a surface of 43.094 km2. Flat countries, peaking in 170 m, it is the continental State, with the peninsula of Jutland, that represents 70 % of the surface of the country, the inhabitant of the border zone of Germany, but also island with 406 islands of which hundred only are inhabited. The most important islands are Seeland ( Sjaelland) where is Copenhagen, Fionie ( Fyn), Lolland, Falster and Bornholm. A 18 km bridge(deck), on the strait Blind Baelt, connects(binds) Copenhagen with Fionie and with Jutland. Another bridge(deck) connects(binds), since July, 2000, Copenhagen with Malmoe ( Sweden). The country is lined by the North Sea and the Skagerrak (strait separating Denmark of Norway) on the West, Kattegat and Baltic Sea in the East. The most continental point goes away from only 50 km of the sea. Denmark offers a long coastal line of 7300 km which facilitated the setting-up(presence) of ports(bearings) and the maritime business.
