Stylish historic hotel perfectly placed near the coast and convenient to the city centre and airport, with a long-standing reputation for professional and caring service. A castle dating from the 11th century which fell into the hands of Oliver Cromwell in 1649, then completely rebuilt in 1837, Clontarf Castle Hotel opened as one of Ireland's best cabaret venues in 1972 until being opened as a four star hotel in 1998 which received a €10 million refurbished in 2007. Sited in the coastal suburb of Clontarf looking out at Bull Island and Dublin Harbour, it is an established and desirable base for events of all kinds, both personal and corporate. The hotel's stylish makeover has resulted in a stunning yet comfortable marriage of traditional and contemporary design. There's a regal quality to the magnificent entrance hall and lobby, which are draped with tapestries and hold a huge fireplace, and the atrium linking the old castle to the hotel is an impressive architectural feature. A credit card or cash deposit will be required at check in. Less
