The architectural heritage of La Baule is an eclectic and fanciful mix, providing a surprising glimpse into the resort’s history. Take your time and wander through the lanes and avenues which wend their way through the shade of the pine forests: the many villas among the trees form an incredible mosaic of eras, styles and materials, each reflecting the tastes and regional roots of their owners. The typical Provence houses, chalets from savoie, and influences from brittany, Normandy and the basque country create the living memory of the resort, and their names also tell a tale. On the seafront, the American-style aesthetic of the modern buildings contributes to thissingular juxtaposition. The success and fame of La Baule is also due to therichness of its natural heritage. The lush parks and pleasure gardens of the villas endow the heart of the resort with a floral charm, while the town’s 650 hectares of pine forest and 47 hectares of carefully preserved private estate forests fill every visitor with the joy of strolling through nature Menos

"Avenue General de Gaulle is the best place in the city for shopping: Numerous shops, open-air market and typical restaurants. I'm not sure if the shops on this avenue are opened on weekend... Cause you know in France the greater number of shops and even restaurants is closed on Sundays"
