I love Paris. It is picturesque but raw and gritty. Full of life, you can easily just walk the street all day. No need to even shop, but just look around. Though trust me... you can easily shop! A traveler can easily find what they want. If they do not want "raw and gritty" they can stay more in the south or if they want to live in the heart of it, spend their time in the Marais. Paris looks like no other city I know! And do not forget the beautiful museums and monuments... with a city height limit of 7 floors, all the monuments can easily be seen, making one of the most beautiful sky lines.

For an authentic Parisian experience, wander the streets behind Notre Dame Cathedral, and you will come upon "Reserve de Quasimodo" Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I do not know the address, but that will be half the fun discovering this ancient little restaurant. Named for it's centuries old wine cellar that is a cave beneath the tiny eating area, it offers fresh items daily. On a cold winter afternoon, I savored the warm vegetable soup served and red wine bread pudding. Bon appetit!
