Peking or Beijing is the capital and one of the most dynamic cultural cities of the Popular Republic of China. The town is the third of the country by his population, after Shanghai and Guangzhou with 17 000 000 inhabitants. It combines three quarters of the population of the autonomous municipality of Peking on a 16 800 km² surface. Beijing is situated in the North of China, in 110 km of the sea of Bohai and in the North of the big Plain of the North, in some kilometers in the South of the Great wall. Beijing is a city several times millennium, but it was destroyed in 1215 before becoming the capital of China from 1264. It is in Beijing where you will discover famous monuments as the Forbidden City, the summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven. Beijing is visited every year by more than 120 million tourists among whom more than 3 million foreigners. Beijing has an international airport and a local airport for the internal connections.
