Most Helpful Reviews about Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris
Sheila has reviewed Père Lachaise Cemetery
Just an amazing place full of history and mystery. With graves from many famous French and international celebrities such as: Gertrude Stein, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and some of the oldest Héloïse (c. 1101–1164) and Abélard (1079–1142). Be sure you visit the holocaust memorials/stones in the back. Very breathtaking at sunset! There are many many beautiful and haunting tombs to be found in this crammed cemetary. Also it is very hilly, so take your time if you have walking issues. Open every day around 10am until sunset (6pm usually).
